Fusing cup Moderator: Hey, I`v got a guest today in my show!!! This is Anna!! Anna: Jo, how are you Jerry!!! Moderator: I`m fine, thank you!! So Anna what are yoe gonne tell us tonight??? Anna: I`m gonne to tell you about my vocational college!! Moderator: Cool, so you can start!! Anna: I`m on the glass college in rheinbach, thats is near bonn, there we have 4 workshops, glaziery, ingraving, grindery and painting workshop. I`m in the grindery. Moderator: Very interessting, tell me something about your day today. What have you made?? Anna: I`ve did a fusing cup!! Moderator: I`m sorry, I don`t know what a fusing cup is!! Can you explain it for me, please?? Anna: Yeah, I tell yoe every step that I made, so first....

1) At first, I am drawing a stencil. 2) With this stencil, I am searching the right glass (artista)in the correct colours. 3) Then I am cutting the glass in my pattern peaces. 4) Now I am cleaning all glass peaces. 5) After the cleaning, I am going to the killn, and I am putting bullseipaper on )the ground. 6) On the bullseipaper I am laying the clear ground glass. 7) On the clear glass I am fitting my glass pieces.

 8) Then is the kiln at firing.

Moderator: Wow, thats very interesting!! I think, I have to come to your school and you have to show me your fusing cup!! Anna: Oh really?? Cool, if you like my fusing cup,then you can have it!! Moderator: That`s so great from you!! I`m very excited!!

how you prepare a fusing bowl

We are the students of the glasvacational college in Rheinbach and we like to introduce you in the fusingtechniques. At first you´ve got a draft proposal which you need to measure and write out which colours you want to use und how many pieces you need. Afterwards you cut out the glaspieces. Then you have to clean it. The glaspieces get arranged on a base pane which will lay on a firing plate, and the firing plate will put into the kiln. The glas fused. When the glas is cooled off, you can take it out of the kiln. Then you lay the plate on to a metal bowl and put it into the fusing kiln. In the Kiln, the glas plate melt into a bowl. Production of a fullfused fusing work

At first, I´m designing a pattern for producing a fusing work. Then I´m choosing the coloured artista glass and cutting the pieces of glass to the exact dimension of the pattern. After this step I´m cleaning the pieces, putting it on a firing plate. Then I´m putting it into the kiln and the heat melts all pieces together to a fusing plate.

Hi! We are students of a vocatianal collage in Rheinbach near Bonn. We want to show you a work wich we had to do in our painting workshop time --> The fullfused dish.

And so we make it:

At first, I'm cutting some kinds of coloured glass (artista) into the right parts of the dish. Then I'm cutting a square of transparent glass (artista). That square has the dimension of the finish dish.I'm cleaning all glass very thorough with spirit. Now, I'm placing the parts onto a firing plate in the kiln. Over that I'm placing the square. Then a workshop teacher is starting the fusing programm. After that,I'm placing the fused square into a firing dish shape in the kiln. Now the teacher is starting the second firing. After that, the dish is ready and I'm cleaning it at last.

We are Nadine Riese and Nadine Ramtom from a vocational school the Glasfachschule Rheinbach in germany. Our Workshop is the glazery but in the moment we are in the painting-workshop where we have to make a fusing object. This how we do it: First, i'am desining a pattern. Then i'am transferring the pattern on coloured glass. I'am cutting the pieces of glass and cleaning them. We use Artista glass for fusing because, it is made for this. After that i'am putting the glass on the firingplate, in the right position. Then we placed it in the kiln. In the kiln the glasses are melting together. After the firing we clean the fusing object. After that the object is finished.
